summer's great. summer lets you do whatevah you want;)

all the photos are from Cierra's party last sunday. it was by the marina, sooooo pretty much all we did was: swim, laugh, eat, tan, swim, check out hawt guys (ahem, the lifeguard!!!), and act like freaksters. it was great! i got an amazing tan, but the left side of my back got a little sunburnt. it looks like a tan, but it hurts like a bitch.

People Watching

went on a daytrip to San Fo a few days ago. sunday to be exact.

i never get tired of that city. and i don't think i ever will (i can't remember how many times i've been there before)! San Fo's just too interesting. the people, the sights, and definitely.....the CUTE GUYS! also, the weather never fails to make me smile. it's so homey and calm, but lively at the same time.

the reason we went to San Fo, was because my mom's best friend, Tita Joey, from the Philippines was staying in Union City for a couple of weeks. we took the BART to go back to San Fo since using a car to get around the city is stupid. haha. trust me, the traffic is overwhelming. and the parking is hopeless. anyway, it was my first time taking the BART. i guess it's the same as the MRT or LRT. but i was wearing super short-shorts and the seats made my legs super itchy. blech. my mom whispered to me, while i was pre-occupied with my germophobic concerns. she told me that the girl sitting on my right looked like the girl from Gran Torino. so, i subtly looked around and kinda looked at her for a second. she did look like the girl from the movie! i just kept quiet and stared out the window. we got to San Fo at around 1pm. i was super hungry by then. we ate at the incredibly famous (and highly recommended) House of Nanking. it's a tiny restaurant and it was pretty pricey. nonetheless, the food was amazing! i recommend the Melt In Your Mouth Calamari! man, i can still taste it! hahahahaha.

after we ate, my mom and tita joey went their separate ways, while i hung out with my dad and bro. we toured the whole city, walking about a total of 8 miles! it was fun! at around 5:30pm, we took the BART going back to Union City. i was pooped and bored. the ride took about 45 minutes total. i started observing the people in the train. they were so intriguing. i ended up watching these two asian girls. they didn't know each other but they caught my interest. the first asian girl, was probably a teenager. she had a backpack and was listening to music. she looked really tired. after a while, she took off her headphones and dug inside her backpack. she took out her phone. it was pretty cute. it was your typical touch-screen phone with a QWERTY keyboard. those phones are too common here nowadays. but the QWERTY keyboards are so much better, hehehehe. my blackberry has a QWERTY keyboard and it makes my life easier. okay, going back to the subject. she checked her phone and put it back in her bag. she then took out a book. i wondered if she was coming home from school and she had homework. i wondered if she was in a year-round school (since it's summer vacation) or maybe she was coming home from a part-time job. hmmmm.

the second asian girl was a woman. she had a cute black dress and was carrying a luggage with the airport tags. she was talking on her phone. i wondered if she was finally coming home from her work. maybe she was a stewardess. i wondered if she was talking on the phone with her special someone and that she's excited to see him again.

i always loved to watch people and wonder about how their lives were like. how they felt about their current state. who they were coming home to and what kind of jobs they had. actually, people watching is not creepy or even stalker-ish. it's taking time to observe different people and how your lives are different or related in some way. it keeps me entertained:).

Tumatakbo

for the past few weeks, i've been running a mile everyday. after the intense 8-week workout we had in gym class and after running the 5k, i decided to continue running. i guess it just helps me clear my head and the feeling of running out of breath is so....hmm...relaxing? haha.

my summer days are always the same. i wake up at 10am and eat breakfast. then go on facebook (trust me, it's pretty addicting!), workout for about half an hour and then prepare lunch. when it's 1:25pm, i turn on the tv and quickly change the channel on TFC---Precious Hearts Romances! after watching it, i go out for a run and i walk my dog.
so yeah, those are pretty much the only things i've been doing since school let out. i kinda wish i had a job or maybe a summer adventure. how about love adventure? hahaha.

on sunday, we're going to San Fran (i've been there a bajillion times and i never get tired of going there) to meet up with my mom's best friend from the philippines. my mom and tita joey are gonna go separate ways for the day, while my dad, my bro, and i walk around the city. i already planned my outfit! haha

L'été

yay, it's finally summer vacation! i love sleeping in and not missing any of my fave shows.
it's been a week since the last day of school. the last day was not that bad! i only had pre-IB earth science and gym finals, a no-brainer! well, i had to study hard for earth science but i was the first one to finish and i finished the test in 30 minutes (a 146-question test!). and guess what? i got a 97% on the final! yay!

the last day, my friends and i decided to celebrate by going to the mall! we had to take the bus and it was my first time taking a public bus, since my parents are usually the ones who drive me around. it was fun! we were at the mall for about 5 hours. here are our mall adventures:

•brenda, cierrra, and i were eating at the food court. i was too busy joking around with them, when brenda said "paula, that guy is totally checking you out. he was staring at you and his eyes were like, going up and down." i was, um, i guess you can say shocked. i asked them, "is he cute?" and they said "nooo!" he was asian though. haha. but that was weird. and we kept seeing him around the mall! example: i was going to starbucks and he was there.....

•we went to Wet Seal and tried on dresses and funky stuff. i tried on this floor-length white, cotton, flowy dress that is totally perfect for the beach. i came out of the dressing room and they told me i should totally get married at the beach. haha. then i made cierra try on this ugly hot-pink jumpsuit. we were all laughing! it was amazing.

•there's this one store at the mall, called SPENCER'S. it's a funky, weird, creepy store. i went there before with my other friends and i vowed to myself to never go in there, ever again. and i specifically told brenda and cierra that we WILL NOT go in that store. so, after we took pictures at the photo booth, they told me to close my eyes. they said they were gonna lead me somewhere. i had no clue what was going on! they made me walk around the mall with my eyes closed (um, panicking over here!). finally, they made me stand in this one, cold room. i still had my eyes closed, and i asked them "are you guys setting me up on a blind date???!!!!" brenda said, "hmm, kinda." seconds later, i opened my eyes... "OMG!!!!! I HATE YOU GUYS!"
they led me to the back of Spencer's with all the adult toys and posters!!!!!! it was the creepiest thing ever. 'nuff said.

•the last part of our adventure was stalking this one cute guy from our school whom we saw smoking (ewwww!!! he's a flippin freshman!) outside the food court. we decided to follow him since we were too bored and we've been waiting for someone to stalk. hahaha, i know, creeps.... oh well! anyway, he went to Sears and we were following him there. after 2 minutes, we lost him. we decided to go undercover and went to the men's section. they told me that i should pretend that i'm buying a gift for my boyfriend (ahem, i wish!) so that it wasn't to obvious. still, no luck, so we ended up going back to the food court. although...... it was fun while it lasted!

i love these girls! our adventures don't end there!

today, my family and i celebrated since my brother and i had high GPAs. i went to Old Navy first to go shop for brenda, cierra, and brittany's birthday gifts. and i also got myself another boyfriend sweater. it's a green-and-white striped cardigan. super cute!!! after that, we went to Sushi Boat--an eat all you can sushi bar. their tempuras are SO DAMN AMAZING. i was so full! um, after that, we went to my mom's office to pick up my brother's package. he just bought a violin.
i got a hair-cut after we picked up Goj's violin. it's layered, and kind of wispy. my hairstylist was a darling.

so yeah, summer's amazing!

Waiting in Vain

so the first day of finals is over! no more english or computer lit.!
that is why i'm taking a break. my brain's still, "whoa."
anyway, last saturday was so much fun! we had the annual french club dinner. we went to The Melting Pot and we had to dress semi-formal Oh, the thrill that the dress code gave me! hahaha.
my friends were freaking out the night before because they didn't know what to wear. but i was all set!
i wore a black sparkly Charlotte Russe tube top with leggings and BCBG heels. my date was my friend sammy. it was a 4-course meal and we found out that we were cooking our own food in the boiling pot. it took us about half an hour to get the hang of it! hahaha. to sum it up, it was one of the best nights of my frosh year. here are some pictures:
